Family of 4 Soapstone Sculpture

Family is one of the most important cornerstones of life. Whether connected to your birth or chosen family, or both, these sculptures remind us of our circles of connection. 

Soapstone, or kisii stone (named for the region where it is found), is a soft, smooth stone. Artisans in Kenya use a wet-sanding technique to carve these sculptures, dye them with natural dyes. Light finish-each sculpture will show its own highlights of the grain of the stone.
