Clay sugar skulls for Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos, are made by local artist Ryan Hudson.
A calavera or sugar skull is a representation of a human skull.
Sugar skulls represent a departed soul and are placed on the home ofrenda (offering place) or gravestone to honor the return of a particular spirit.
In this time of pandemia, remembering our loved ones who have passed as well as our ancestors, offers humanity back into our minds and hearts. Sugar skulls can be joyful and celebratory.
Each sugar skull is unique. Available pieces will be sent when ordering online. If you want a specific one, please message us for availability.
