Camillia sinensis

Tasting notes: bold, full, slightly spicy

Caffeine level: high

A highly versatile, classically flavored black tea with bright floral and tannic notes, Ceylon goes well with all the traditional foods of tea time. Organic Fair Trade Certified Ceylon Black Tea is a high grown, Orange Pekoe grade tea that yields a medium-strong tea body with a moderate to high level of astringency. The infused color of this tea is a deep coppery red with a bold, black tea aroma. Put a new twist on tea by serving Ceylon with a slice of orange, instead of lemon. You'll marvel at how well the flavors and aromas meld and support each other. Our organic, Fair Trade Certified™ Ceylon tea is kosher certified.

Fair Trade Certified™ by Fair Trade USA®

Your Fair Trade purchase empowers farming communities to earn additional funds and invest them where they are needed.

Available in two sizes, these Fair Trade and Certified Organic teas can brew about 40 cups of tea per jar or 7 cups of tea per test tube. Double steep your teas to double the enjoyment.

Either to warm you up or chill you out, our teas are great hot or iced. Use about 1 tsp tea per 8 ounces of nearly boiling water. For black or green tea, let steep for 3-4 minutes based on personal taste. For herbal tea, let steep for at least 5 minutes, up to 10!

Generally speaking, the more oxidation the less time tea needs to brew! Oxidation is the process of drying out tea leaves after harvest. Just like apples and avocados brown when left out in the air, so does tea. So if your tea is a dark black color, err on the side of less time; while a lighter green would need more time.

Local to our Columbus storefront? Bring in your test tube for a 2 dollar refill of any of our teas!
